Alfalfa is an Arabic name meaning the father of all foods. Originally from Persia (Iran), it is one of the earliest know legumes. The Arabs cultivated it thousands of years ago and fed it to their horses to strengthen them. Having produced some of the strongest horses in the world, they tried it themselves and found it very beneficial. Alfalfa contains almost all known vitamins and minerals.
